Not a high-end binoculars but great to take along for a "recce" and value for money for a "zoom" binocular
I own a Leica Duovid 8-12 magnification , brilliant but heavy, and about 15 times the price of this item. I do a lot of photography and do a lot of hiking to enjoy and to recce for wildlife and future photos and that is where these binoculars fit well - sturdy and light with the convenience of a 7 to 15 magnification - to study locations, spot the wildlife it is fit for purpose. I spotted nest of house-martin in a sandy cliff at 15 times magnification without problem, I will come back for pictures and observation with the Leica binoculars.
Definitely not Leica or Swarowski optical quality (I do not think Nikon intended that anyway) but for that price, the optical performance ok at 7 to 10, showing strain at 15 with heavy chromatic aberrations but again, at 15, if one places his eyes at right angle with the oculars, it is ok - again not for long detailed observation but for scanning and spotting.
To sum for recce or "emergency" binoculars to have in your car, giving you a zoom facility, at that price, it is worth it but not as your main binoculars for long observation of wildlife.
