REview of Solar panel
Yes, this is a working solar panel and apparently new. However I bought 50 individual 6v solar panels in 1994 and the output was similar. So the technology has not moved on. The previous solar panels had no terminals as such just contact pads and it was left to the ingenuity of the buyer to make connections, so this new panel is so much more usable having proper wired connectors. Also being in a rigid frame is good. The output today (October) is 3 watts approx, not high so its only good to charge a battery. I have not used the charge controller yet so can't comment on that -still at testing stage. I also have a power inverter 600w capacity to step up to 230v A.C. so we have a standby mains power supply but only usable for lighting. The panel is therefore insufficient for more than the above except on an exceptionally sunny day which we don't have many of in the U.K.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good but could be excellent with just a little more effort.
Solar panel and wiring are of good quality. The controller is excellent with clear LED display and measures of different parameters but the instructions enclosed were (at least for this newbie) not detailed enough. The main fault was that there is no wiring included to connect from battery to controller so I had to find out for myself the guage of wiring required and source the connectors. At the same time I found out that it was sensible to include a fuse in this section. Its called a charging kit which implies all components are included to use the panel for charging but they are not. A major shortfall. That said, all is working well and I have hopes it will give years of service.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Sold as a Solar Panel Battery Charging kit, however you still need to buy fused cable from the battery to the controller. Easy to install, and appears to work as stated. Not the full kit.
Although it describes a kit for solar panel installation you still need to purchase an in line fused cable to connect the battery to the controller. Plus the cable length was 600 mm shorter than the description. I haven't seen it working yet but await its performance on a 7 week tour of Ireland.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Meaningful output
The panel was able to produce over 2 amps @ 12v in winter sunshine. Correctly aligning it increased the output to over 4amps. Instalation was easy. Only critisism is the printon the instuctions is very small.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
