Go short!
Root+pedal=clavicle plate.
Thought a lot about shorter cranks to avoid future wrecks. I've only been on a couple rides with these, but I can tell it's going to help. People will say that you will lose "leverage". True, however, chainring and cassettes are essentially round levers that will make up the difference in any "lost" leverage. I also went from a 32T to a 30T chainring at the same time since I tend to be more of a "spinner" anyway. Sure, I'll lose some top speed, but I think the benefits are going to outweigh any losses. I can already see that I'm able to crank more through tight, twisty stuff.
Another thing to think about; multiple sizes of bikes are available, xs,s, med,lg, xl, but almost all come with 175mm cranks. Do we all have the same size legs?
I thought about "only" going with 165mm ones, but since I saw these and considering what I was trying to achieve, I said, "F it, I want SHORT!" I'm happy.
