Does what is says it does.vs vs
Product was as described a d delivered in good time. Installation was fairly simple in an existing circuit, just need to make sure the current sensor is clipped to the correct meter tail.Minor niggles are the tiny stews used to hold the unit lid on, and in my case the current sensor wire required extending. Clever box of tricks
Great device bought to replace the sunlight sensing system I've been running to power a 3Kw immersion via a power reducer which worked well but not as cleverly as the Solic200. The only small thing that could improve it's performance is if I can get the excess energy exported to the grid closer to zero, the closest I can get is approx 100w exported which is no issue in summer months but during winter, with limited energy produced by panels, utilizing every Watt helps. So far during September & the first 2 weeks of October the system has provided all our hot water.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Easy to set up.....a few very minor problems.
Installation was easy and documentation is sufficient to set up the system. Two minor issues: 1. Discovered that the measurement via the current isn't quite spot on as when producing more than adequate solar energy it still consumes a (very) small amount of power from the grid. Calibration issue for current clamp? 2. I had to replace one of the screws holding the wires in place because the thread on it seemed to be locked and wouldn't screw in to clamp the wire. On removing the screw it appeared that the screw had been stripped. This is probably a minor QC issue. Now it is installed it works well. It is very responsive. e.g. when my washing machine is running, you can see that it switches power to the immersion heater every time the washing machine pauses. An alternative would be to recharge a battery pack with the excess energy. Overall an impressive device and worth purchasing if you have excess capacity.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Free hot water, or something else!
