Excellent rod a reel loaded it up with 50lb spider braid. As a experienced fisherman I swear by Abu Garcia when it comes to pike,perch and Zander fishing. This rod and reel is everything you need for a days lure fishing, it covers most situations you would find yourself in. It also covers most weight of lures, 15 to 45 gram is what you mostly use for pike fishing at least. I would recommend you loading the reel up with at least 70lb braid. It so lightweight that you won’t get tired casting out during your fishing session. The reel is a classic bait reel, so small but more than does the job. A superb set up for any youngsters to adults.
