Good in all respects, except one unit was 14 months 'old' and a second was 19 months 'old'. The units were shiny new sealed items, and by 'old' I refer to the age on delivery since the manufacture dates written on the units. These dates are the start of the 10 year official lifetimes of the units, so the alarms were already 12% and 16% 'used up'. They were the cheapest I found on Ebay and probably still represent OK value, but be aware.

Bought this as a replacement for my old one which was a different make but this new one is listed as a direct replacement and looks identical apart from the name. The old one was poorly made, difficult to undo and attach to the wall plate section and I had first bust it years ago trying to replace the battery - broke off one of the lugs on the wall plate, attaching to the alarm section. Made it hold together on the one remaining lug. Managed to break the other lug a few weeks ago changing the battery again. The new one fits, attached and undoes so smoothly in comparison. Gives me confidence it will not give me the same problems. Also has a better 9V battery compartment - no fiddly cap to fit on the battery connectors; just slot the battery straight in. Makes the old one seem like the two pieces were not meant to mate together. Read full review
