Disappointing!
I think the fact this book, although perhaps having a decent story to relate, was disappointing, has more to do with Ken Scott than Horace Greasley himself. A better writer could perhaps have conveyed the thoughts and language of the men involved without having to continuously fill every conversation with vile language and describe every sexual encounter in quite such a juvenile manner. It is written in the 3rd person and about Horace's pre-war time at home with his siblings and then during the war and post war - it is more interesting and well written than I first thought and I cannot now put it down!
