She was a BBC favorite--but her understanding of dog psychology was low. Her obedience level didn't compare to Strickland or Koehler who were at the same time period. She is a waste of time now. She didn't understand Operant Conditioning or Drive Training. Save your money for a better trainer's materials.

This is a simple book. It trains the owner, so they can train their dog. In our new age of new, gentle sweet training. Many dogs just don't get it. They want a master and leader, not a buddy that sweet talks them. This works and has for 2 previous dogs. Warning: if you can't be tough enough to get through to a difficult dog, this will not work for you. Unfortunately, the sweet talk and coddling your dog won't either. Good luck!

I love this book. I have used the "Woodhouse Way" to train 4 nearly perfect dogs so far(not all my dogs). Now I am on my 5th and the pup is mine...looking for a new copy as the old one is worn out!
As a dog trainer, it is extremley impotant to understand all methods of training in order to help all clients with their specific needs. There are alot of good point in this book, but several that I am not personally comfortable with.
