Very good ... but could be better.
Functions as advertised. Have used it to skin several catfish so far. Purchased this as a replacement for a nearly identical tool which served me well for many years before it became so badly corroded that I couldn't use it effectively. I gave it 4 stars because it appears to have some of the same problems I had with the previous catfish skinner: It's made from galvanized sheet steel. That means that it's going to rust out eventually. Stainless steel would have been the preferred material. The plastic handles covers get very slippery with catfish mucus. I have to wash the mucus off frequently. Otherwise, I can't get a firm enough grip. A rougher, non-slip surface would be a better choice. .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

These things rock. The quality over other models I have tried is evident soon as you hold them. Solid materials, great feedback from the spring-loading (there's more spring, but not excessive).
