By virtue of a public call for August 20, 1869, the contract for the construction of the tram plants in Dersadet is signed on 30 of the same month. Five months later, on February 18, 1870, the "Compagnia di Tra d'Istanbul" is founded. In 1908 the "Tunel" line was opened, which was later included in the Tram Company consortium, and the connection with the Taksim square is made possible. Both the company and the line itself cross various vicissitudes, including the First World War, until June 1939, when the company is nationalized and transferred to Iject that manages it today. In the 1960s all the lines of the Istanbul tram were closed, and it will not be until 29 December 1990 when the Taksim-Tunel line as a tourist tram will be reopened, although today it has now become one of the many me.
