The only economical solution.
The Hotpoint original price is nearly 3 times this replacement item. The original design was poor and obviously any replacement has to replicate this and that means care is needed not to subject the handle to any lateral force or impact. Having identified why 2 handles fractured at the mounting (one original) as a result of lateral impact hopefully the problem is solved. The appearance is almost identical to the original and materials seem of similar strength so given the huge saving in price this is the way to go.
