It strips but is expensive.
I am always surprised at the high cost of this product. I have used it for decades on my motorcycle restoration projects, but this new formulation doesn’t seem as active as it once was. There is a green tint to the gel and states that it is not for auto paint. Maybe that is due to modern water based coatings. I deal with old cellulose and enamel paint, but it doesn’t blister as expected. I’ll see how it goes on other areas, as I may have better results on old school paint. Disappointed
This well known brand was my first choice. I had a very old Georgian mahogany table with scuffed varnish. There were no thick layers of paint just a thin coat of Stain/Matt varnish. I followed the instructions to the letter and I would say it removed about 30% with a lot of scraping.
