I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YEARS TO SEE IT AGAIN, WASN'T AS GOOD AS REMEMBERED - IT'S OKAY IF YOU ARE INTO VERY DARK, CRUDE, GOTH, S+M. PAIN. WON'T EVER WATCH AGAIN - VID WAS OF LOW QUALITY. GLAD IT WAS AT A VERY FAIR PRICE. I WON'T FEEL THAT BAD ABOUT THROWING IT AWAY.. LOL

A Gem!
This DOES have the famous "Rape of Christ Scene" included IN THE FILM ITSELF, not just in the feature about the editing. This is probably the ONLY current version that DOES, so although it's pricey, if you see it, grab it! The picture quality is comparable to the old VHS tapes, so not magnificent picture quality (like the Shutter streaming version has currently, by the way), but certainly works just fine. One day hopefully a new version will be released that "has it all," but until then this one is a GEM!

A terrific film that needs a Criterion rekease
Ken Russell's X rated film is at heart, a political. This DVD is the film I saw after itwas released in 1941. This DVD is mediocre as far as the color grading. It doesn't look as good as the original. But since there is no other version available.

'Bait and switch'. It is full length ('uncut'), but the quality is extremely poor as if it had been copied VHS (or worse) to DVD. Not 'restored' but 'destroyed' Scammed!
