a recommended buy
I originally bought a simpler £20 machine with friction resistance, it was light so moved about, had a jerky motion and limited scope and extent of resistance. So I bough this model, totally different. If you just want to turn your legs over the cheap will be ok but for anything more it has to be this type of system. Sturdy, Robust, Great Quality
Following a heart transplant I needed a pedal exerciser for indoor use, to complement my outdoor exercise regime. I have found the Magne Trainer to be of excellent quality - sturdy, robust and good quality. If you choose a cheap version of such a machine, you'll find the biggest problem is that the pedal motion moves the machine away from you. Great product
Having used a cheap friction-based trainer with insufficient resistance, I was very pleased with this product. It has a wide range of resistance and is smooth in use. I use mine for arm exercise as I'm paraplegic; it's a good workout. I can get myself utterly knackered with it, so it does its job well. I can't comment on its use for the legs of course. It comes with two high-friction pads to keep the trainer in place during use It only needs the two pads because all the slippage would occur on the front two feet. I'm not sure how long the pads will last. They sometimes wrinkle in use but they can be straightened out and washed clean to improve their adhesion. Practical and easy to use
I like this little trainer as, as a beginner, it is easy to use and I'll be able to build up my usage in time. I discovered that it slips on wood/laminate floors and have had to place mine against a wall on a carpeted floor. A solidly built machine which is quiet and effective
A very solidly constructive machine that is clearly going to last. It is more substantial than I had expected. The magnetic flywheel really is worth paying extra for. Most mini exercise bikes use friction to counterbalance the peddling. The magnetic flywheel is very effective and precise to control. It is also very quiet – this is important especially if you want to exercise while watching telly or listening to music. The Digital screen gives you useful read out of revs, calories and distance. Very pleased.
Bought this for my ageing mother to help keep her moving while in isolation lock-down. As a “returned item” it looks brand new and unused and in original packaging. The manual and various “bits” were in sealed polly bags. As a device it is top-notch. The magnetic mechanics mean this thing is very smooth and just like a real bicycle action. There is a momentum in the peddling like a real bike. It really is extremely quiet when being used. There is more sound from clothing and deep breathing than from the machine. I’ve had a cheapo exercise bike in the past where pedal resistance came from friction - and I was concerned about that unrealistic pedal action. This is great and feels great. The easy settings are very easy. If all you need is a bit movement to stretch muscles and free up the joints this will work for you but on the high settings it would work for the best athlete.
