Nice improvements from the original LTO Tracker. LTO 2 HD for the win👍👍

I own several different thermal monoculars from price ranges $500 on up to $4,000 and I use the LTO 2 HD the most for quick spotting whatever it is that I’m looking for. Whether it’s an overloaded electrical line, to tracking an animal that was injured. This thing really picks up heat signatures really well. I’m able to see animals heat signatures on the ground from their footprints up to five minutes after they’ve walked over the location. Easy to fit into my jacket pocket and the rechargeable lithium batteries last up to 4 hours of use. Not a bad deal for right at a grand. Do yourself the favor and upgrade the LTO thermal you was planning on buying to the HD 2. The new adjustment features are worth it.

    Needs improvement

Bought this and almost right out of the box the battery indicator was flashing. Replaced the battery and used it for a few days. The quality of the thermal is lacking, If it had a focus adjustment it would greatly improve this monocular. As far as using it only to find a lost animal in the dark it works better than trying to find one without using it... if it had a more clear image it would get a way better review from me but i’am also use to a thermal scope so maybe I’m a little bias but I’d rather pay a little more and get a little more. Seller was great to work with though.

  • Works great but hard to see with old eyes.

Great little viewing device. Price is reasonable and it works well. I have tested it out in my back yard and you can see the rabbits running around from about 50 ft. and probably further if, I could see the screen better. If you need readers, you'll need them to see this screen because it's small and not magnified. You can electronically zoom in on an image but that doesn't do much good if you can't focus on it. Would rate it 5 stars if they had a solution for this because having take readers on and off in the field every time you want to look into the tracker then scan at distance is a big pain. Perhaps an adjustable lens that attaches to the viewer which can magnify the image.

  • No good for hunting hogs in the rain which is the best time to do it.

The problem is that it's not good for night hunting coyotes and ferral hogs. I bought it specificall to hunt at night. The display is too small and it throws too much light on my face when I used it and it scares off every animal. The other problem is that when it's cold and it's raining (the best time to hunt hogs) all you see is a grainy gray screen. Everything is wet and the same temp, so there are no temperature variations that are detectable. I personally have no use for it and will be requesting to return it. Also, there is no carrying strap or a place to hook on an aftermarket one.

  • Better than Scout TK- But can’t record

The detail, refresh rate and precision is way better than a FLiR Scout TK. But it can’t record. Also, the viewer is tiny. But there is a mod on YouTube that shows how to attach an eyepiece. I ended up doing the mod & buying a FLiR One for household stuff. The combo is perfect.

  • Great lower cost thermal

Great for what it is at this price point. Many great uses as is. I attached a 10” long plastic pipe using rubber plumbing fittings and also put a rubber cap on the end of the pipe with a tiny hole in it for scouting for coyotes without lighting up your face.

  • Great little unit

The unit is definitely a big improvement over the original release of the tracker series. The Beacon mode is a game changer when it comes to locating A downed animal that you are trying to locate. The unit is sturdy and made of solid aluminum construction the color palettes are nicely planned out and the buttons are of easy access. The only downside to the unit is the battery life is only 3 hours when the original tracker series was 10 so just make sure you take an extra battery with you when you go to the field.

  • Easy to use

definitely helped vision at night and able to pick up animals or humans but not quite as clear and far as I expected.I used it to look for racoons in a leafy tree and works much better on trees with leafs versus needles.

  • Great technology

It works better than I expected. I can’t wait to use it in the field. The viewfinder is clear and controls are easy.

  • All Good

Easy to use. Good graphics. Was able to spot and identify squirrels @ 50 yards. Expect to be able to track other game just as easy.
