Parasol base
This may be a bit lightweight for a big parasol, it is pretty heavy though.. I bought it to fit inside a tub, the base of which I drilled holes in and I then filled with gravel...Rock solid now. The base is well made and of good quality, the concrete bit is painted black with a plastic bumper strip around the edge to stop it chipping. the tube appears to be metal and is also well painted, or coated with some sort of tough coating..the adjustment screw on the side of the tube, screws against a wedge to trap the parasol stem and stop it blowing away in an updraft....My parasol is 6feet in diameter...Very pleased with this item..Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

ok but wrong size
unfortunately my parasol was 48mm pole size and max diameter this base can cope with is 45mm. it probably says this somewhere but I didn't see it and I made the assumption that parasol makers and base makers were somehow coordinated. I was wrong. Apart from this it was a perfectly good product. at the end of the day it's a parasol base - just not very useful if your parasol doesn't fit in it!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great would defo recommend
Really heavy, I'm in a wheelchair so couldn't lift myself but my son put it all together and sorted it! Sorry I haven't left a comment as yet but just after this came in the post or courier (can't remember which one it was) I was rushed into hospital and diagnosed with bacterial meningitis and unfortunately I already have multiple sclerosis as well that's why I ended up getting it anyways I nearly died and lost my damn mind but I'm all better now! Such a shame!
This arrived so quickly and well packed too, its extremely heavy and very neat looking but do check your pole diameter first - I didn't & when I tried to use it with my existing umbrella, the hole for the pole is far too big even with all the "spacers" fitted. I don't want to get a new umbrella as this one is metal framed, was expensive and its beautiful!! Base not wide enough to withstand parasol in slightest breeze
I bought this item based on the weight of the base - it wasn’t until it arrived that I’d even considered the width of the base. It holds the parasol without any breeze, but the slightest of breeze / wind when it’s placed on a level flat patio surface, the parasol blows over. Marko black parasol base
Item came well wrapped and quick delivery. Easy to assemble and supports a large parasol on my patio well, even when a reasonable breeze is blowing, as it often does here on the Dorset coast. It was missing the centre bolt but that was not a difficult inconvenience to overcome... I have a box of old Imperial and metric bolts in my garage.
