Great polisher just let down by sparse instructions
Bought with accessory pack. Good quality bag and large range of pads. Just let down by poor instructions..or rather lack of them. Couldnt fit main backing disk at first..then realised it was coveted with black sleeve. Very little idea which pad does what..had to do google search to find out. However once up and going it is a delight to use. Not too heavy and such an improvement to polishing by hand which always gave me shoulder ache. As noted by other reviewers it is a bit noisy but not excessive. All told the quality looks good and it works great. Im surprised that the positive reviews are true!
Well worth the money, especially when you buy with the bag and accessories. Its comfortable on the hand and noise levels are acceptable but can be heard, so would not advise using it in evenings in your drive! Very good for the DIY and weekend warriors. If you are new to this, then i would advise getting Maguires Ultimate Compound and Polish from Halfords as they are on sale at £12 a bottle. Do not use G3 Advance Liquid as thats for Rotary machines. Remember watch loads of Youtube videos, test the white and orange pad first and see which one works for you. Remember different cars have different level of hardness on clear coat, so if your pads are not performing well its not the machine its the pad or the compound you are using. My rule of thumb is setting 4 for compounding, going very slow and for polishing / waxing setting 2 but moving machine a quicker than compounding. Maybe buy a adapter for a smaller backing pad and some 3 inch pads for smaller panels. My next shopping list is some hexalogic pads i like the look of them! Loads of cheaper ones available but then again some really expesive ones as well, my advise is this machine is definately worth it if you are a non professional and if you are a proffesional its good back up machine that will not break the bank if your expensive machine needs replacing!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Entry to DA Car Polishing
Spent quite a bit of time researching DA polishers and so far, I'm delighted with the Katsu. I'm pretty sure this is essentially the same product as a DAS6 Pro but about 1/3 of the cost. General advice was to avoid the DAS6 with smaller 600w motor as it was not quite powerful enough. Did worry that the pads would be poor quality, but they seemed fine to me... having said that, I've nothing to compare it to and I'm sure if you use Chemical Brothers Hex pads, you'll get quicker results. But as this was a first attempt, time was not a concern. I did struggle to get clarity as to what pad does what. After lots of Googling I came to this conculsion: White pad - Use for compounding Orange pad - Use for light compounding and polishing Black pad - Use for light polishing and finishing Woolen pads - Use for buffing I used the White pads with Scholl S20 Black one step compound/polish. I used 3 pads to do the whole car. Sure you could get away with using just 1, but I just felt the pad got a little clogged with product after a while. Great cost effective polisher
After plenty of research on Dual Action polishers I decided to purchase the Katsu and I am very pleased with it. It came with a very useful bag and lots of foam bonnets. I have used the Katsu to compound glass fibre and get rid of the oxidation followed by polishing and waxing.
