Great product needing good eyesight to fit.

Seiko brand product for a Seiko watch cannot go wrong. The fitting was very fiddly but successful in the end. My watch is working OK so far. I would attempt fitting a capacitor again after looking at a Youtube video.

  • Most critical review

    Not as advertised.

The capacitor fit perfectly. Arrived in time (like it is important). However, the battery is nowhere close to original although advertised - longer life. Ended up a few month after replacement, shaking my watch daily to get it working. Wearing through the day is not enough you have to move 24/7. Never indicated more than 10% charged life. Left watch haplessly in the drawer. What the point? Really disappointed. Will be looking for replacement elsewhere.

  • A new life for my Kinetic

You do need to watch the YouTube videos to get an idea how easy this is and if you feel confident enough to do it yourself. I work on watches as hobby and with the right tools I completed the job in well under 30 mins. You do need a very good micro screwdriver with a sharp blade, a clean work area and time this is not a rush job for newbies, it is very very easy to loose the very very small screws. This kit is from Seiko and fits like a glove. My kinetic was up and running straight away so there must be some charge pre installed. Good luck...and take your time.....👍

  • Original Seiko kit - very speedy delivery

Original Seiko battery replacement parts kit includes replacement tagged battery, fixing plate and gasket to swap out a failing Pulsar or Seiko kinetic rechargeable watch cell. You will need a steady hand, good quality jewellers flat and crosshead screwdrivers, a thin non conductive 'stick' to prevent the watch pendulum turning (trim down a match stick); tweezers AND a free standing magifying glass. You will not do this job without the latter as watch screws are smaller than pin heads. There is a step by step guide if you search Utube. This kit does not include a replacement waterproof seal or silicone for the watch back plate if you need one. Good product and glad to have my old Pulsar watch back working perfectly.

  • Everything needed to repair a Seiko Kinetic

I admit I was a bit worried about taking apart my Seiko watch and replacing the damaged capacitor with this lithium battery upgrade, but after being quoted silly money by a watch repair company I thought I would have a go. All the parts required are supplied in the kit, and with the aid of a magnifying glass I removed the back of the watch and got started. It was not absolutely easy, but with a little patience anyone can do it. Once I had fitted the new parts the watch was going. I have since been on holiday for two weeks and left the watch at home. When I returned I tested the remaining charge and it was still at maximum. Absolutely brilliant product, and my old watch is back to normal again.

  • Seiko kinetic

I recommend you get some decent jewellers screwdrivers, and a magnifying glass. You will need steady hands, and patience. It took me about 30 minutes to complete. I followed some advice on line. The new "battery" is like a new lease of life. The watch runs perfectly and has in fact run for over a week with no charging. Great product

  • Seiko Kinetic Capacitor 5M42, 5M43 P/N 30235 MZ Lithium-ion Upgrade

I bought my Seiko 5M42 calibre watch in 2001, it ran for a couple of years or so before it failed to retain charge. I took it to a city centre jeweller who wanted about £80 to look at it. The precise figure is uncertain due to my memory. Needless to say I didn't bother and put the watch to one side; swearing never to buy a Seiko again as it was only about £120 when bought new. Having found out the replacement was available I found a suitable how "to video" on YouTube and replaced the original parts with those supplied. The watch started as soon as the new battery was installed and the timekeeping is within original specification. A job needing a steady hand as the screws are tiny, but not difficult if you are careful.

  • Decent battery

Don't know why a small rechargeable battery should be so expensive. Does come with a new gasket and battery clamp though. Works well and has given an old watch a new lease of life. Quick delivery. Happy with the purchase.

  • Excellent and essential if you want your Kinetic to keep working.

Definitely a fiddly item to fit, check out youtube for a video showing step by step instructions. After fitting I found my watch was back to 100% so I am very pleased. I found I could not refit the small screws and they had a tendency to fly off across the bench if the screwdriver slipped, so a tiny bit of blutack on the screwdriver helped to keep it in place.

  • Seiko kinetic capacitor replacement.

This component is an economical solution for a failing seiko kinetic watch. Fitment is straightforward, but you need to remove the caseback and need a very tiny screwdriver and a steady hand. The minute screws are easy to lose. I found out the method on YouTube, there are some clear, easy to follow instructions on there. I was successful in my repair despite no previous experience inside a watch except normal battery swap. Go for it. G
