Cycle Carrier Tailboard
The unit is amazing value and could be used for a range of applications. The electrical cable is far more than required for a cycle carrier application. That is not a problem as surplus can be bound with a cable tie. The length does give scope to use the unit some distance behind the car. There are no fixing on the unit but these are easily added with a bit of inventiveness. Better this than having fixings which don't match the use that you have in mind. NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE
Maypoles quality control has dropped significantly since I first used their products!! The plastic extrusion they assemble the lights on is not fit for purpose as it's too brittle/weak. Bought the above item recently and within a few miles the end caps fell off, then 5 miles further up the road the plastic which I had drilled 5.5mm holes (as i have done for years on my previous Maypole lighting boards with no problems) to secure it to the trailer decided to disintegrate/crack allowing the lighting board to drop to the ground thus smashing one of the light units. Result: One £15 knackered lighting board well within 10 miles of use. NOT HAPPYVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Value for the money
Quality not so good, but does the job and cheap. i fitted a lenght of wood in the upper section of the plastic back board which makes it stronger and you can also fix though this section, the centre section has the cables so would not put any fixing through that area.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Ideal for the smaller trailer
This unit is good value for those wanting an easily portable unit for the smaller trailer. The build quality is good. Just one big gripe, the filament bulbs belong to the previous century. Inevitably they get bimetallic corrosion and in due course, with obvious safety implications, they become intermittent or plain stop working.
