The Games Workshop Warhammer 40k Codex Supplement Dark Angels 9th Edition Miniature is a highly sought-after collectible for fans of the Warhammer 40K game. This product features miniatures from the Dark Angels army of Space Marines, known for their specialized tactics and unique abilities. The Codex Supplement includes additional content for players interested in the Dark Angels faction, allowing them to enhance their gameplay experience with new rules, lore, and options. This bulk/lot item is a must-have for any Warhammer 40K enthusiast looking to expand their collection with high-quality miniatures and enhance their gaming strategy.
The 9th Edition Coded for the Dark Angels is arguably one of the best Space Marine Codex of all chapters currently available (as of Sept 28, 2021). The Dark Angels specific detachment rules granting Objective Secure to elite units in special Ravenwing and Deathwing detachments synergizes with the meta game of 9th edition which revolves around taking and keeping objectives during each round of the game. Dark Angel specific relics and warlord abilities enhance units that were already great on their own. The special rules for Dark Angel companies are great because they play directly into the strengths of those units. Last but not least the unique Librarian powers of Interromancy are considered the best in the game. If you want an army of Space Marines that plays well in all facets of the game, consider playing Dark Angels. And if you don't care about that, the Lore for the Sons of the Lion should bring you hours of enjoyment as one of the more compelling and interesting Space Marine Chapters.
The 9th Edition supplemental Codex: Dark Angels is like most others of its kind in this current edition. Lacking in terms of lore content and following the modern trend GW has been following of selling you a bigger, more expensive book that you may not really want (Codex: Space Marines) but must have. Hence it being a supplement, not a Codex in and of itself, as was the case for the 3rd and 4th edition books (which were a lot more information dense). The same holds true for the Blood Angels book, which I also own, and pales in comparison to the 5th edition Codex when I compare them side-by-side.
Still, I recommend it if only because you have no other option if you want to play Dark Angels properly, and it's hardback so at least it wont get damaged edges the same way the old paperback books did. I guess. If you want to learn about the Dark Angels, though, you'd be better off finding a PDF scan of the old books online.
