  • Great Title, Good features

This is a 5 Star Product , because it is a Rarely Seen Classic These days. It is also one of the 1930s early Horror films made in the early Colour Process which makes it very enjoyable to view and looks Quite Spooky in Places. This is the Original House of Wax Story . Remade in 1953 by Warner Pictures Starring Vincent Price. A Must Have Film In all True Horror Film Fans Collection . Extras are few but still of Interest.

  • This UCLA Film School restoration is a five star gem. 👍

The UCLA Film School has done the history of cinema and movie lovers a great service! This film is a prime example of Hollywood at it's pinnacle: the 1930s through the 1940s. The script is literate and fun, the actors all possess the charismatic star quality and easy charm which todays personalities most often lack. And the set design and photography are stylishly perfect. This restoration is priceless.

  • Really appropriate title

A great movie. The performances of Frank McHugh & Lionel Atwill Were top notch. (I always enjoy McHugh's performances. Highly underrated.) As I always loved the Vincent Price remake, "Mystery" is a better fare. Both are great, however.

  • Mystery of the Wax Museum 1933

Great early technicolor film. It seems Warner Archive didn't press enough copies for the demand. Someone directed me to this site so I could buy a copy before 2021. The price about the same as the list price and shipping free. No price gouging here, and it was in pristine, new condition. Highly recommended.

  • Never Looked Better

An absolutely beautiful restoration, never looked better. Color corrected and audio restored as well. Great angular demented sets by Anton Grot, as usual. 2 trivia-packed commentary tracks, a 20 minute featurette about Fay Wray by her daughter, and a 10 minute before and after restoration featurette round out the Blu Ray. Don’t miss it.

A historically important film, in 2-strip Technicolor. But this disk halted in a couple places, effectively skipping over a few seconds each time.
