Yes, I am an Overkill fan, really hated to have to miss their Denver show supporting this disc. This is a good blend of old-school thrash and newer metal tones. The lyrics are just as good as the rest of their discs, which is refreshing given the number of bands that can create a great riff only to muck it up with their having ignored whatever education in English that had been made available to them. At times it seems as if they are either attempting to reign-in the energy, or perhaps fatigue is starting to show after such a long, prolific career of relentlessly avoiding complete stinkers. Their early stuff could be cheesy by today's standards, but in context they were ahead of their time. This disc has not disappointed me in the least, four sets of enthusiastic horns.
The new overkill is the first album they have put out since Years of Decay that I have liked after the 1st listen. I don't know whether this is a good thing or not because it usually takes me 2 years to like their new stuff so I might be saying something else in 2 years, but I will say Years of Decay is there best so maybe in 20 years I will be saying Ironbound is the runner up. This is there 16th studio and Years of Decay was there 4th so it's been a long time waiting. I've seen Overkill 22 times ( 2000 show at the Birch Hill and DVD shoot in Asbury Park NJ included )and plan on going at least twice on there 25th anniversary tour. Hopfully this will be there best tour ever.
I never really liked Overkill until I heard this record. Bobby Blitz's vocals are kinda toned down and more focused than before. That twin guitar attack is as relentless as it is inventive and I love the overdriven bass sound on this record too. If you like heavy music but never listened to Overkill or thrash metal before, this is a great gateway album. High quality stuff.

This CD, people, is exactly how modern thrash metal should be done. Every track on this disc is awesome. There is no filler to be found here. Overkill is absolutely on fire on this album. They have the speed, energy, and power of a band which is half their age. How they discovered the fountain of youth ? I definitely give this one 5/5 stars.
