I liked this. It’s gentle. Not intense. And you see a side of Paul that I had not noticed before. I often saw him as impatient and a man who put things in difficult to understand ways. But this showed his gentle side. His human side. Others have said he was in doubt. In this film. Well, apart from once, I didn’t see that. And even then, how do we know? How many of us wobble occasionally? The actor who played him did it really well. Those who mention he didn’t offer to heal the sick girl, need to read the bible. Jesus didn’t offer either! Often He would ask, ‘what do you want?’ When it was obvious! And the Samaritan woman he said he wouldn’t heal! Only when she commented, about dogs eating from the masters table, did he tell her her faith had healed her daughter! AndLuke doing it did more. Sometimes what we think is wisdom isn’t. People need to stop judging and criticising. And actually read, before they comment! The guy who was the guard played it well. As did the actor who played Luke. It could have been a bit more in depth. But it was very good. And yes. You could see Nero was a maniac. And religious persecution was horrific. This is shown, but not graphically. But you do know the horror and torture that is going on. The guard saying sorry for the murders, shows how he is beginning to see Paul for who he is, or Christ in Paul, to put it another way. But he is not yet aware he is seeing Christ. He shows who he is as a person, in that he can show both mercy and repentance for things that he himself is not guilty of. Something many of us struggle to do, even if it is us that are guilty! Good film. Recommended. I paid under £8. Good value. And I would watch it again. Gentleness is one of the most powerful forces on earth. If we could truly see that, like Paul shows in this film, especially when he encourages Luke; when Luke feels despair and doubt, we would learn a lot.Read full review

Love this film as it shows the reality of what it meant to be one of the first Christians and the persecution that followed.
