Very pleased with my purchase of these great speakers
I'll add my review to the many thousands out there! I researched these speakers plus a family member already had a slightly older version of the same speaker so got a chance to hear them first, used with a turntable. I had a limited budget and was finding it hard to justify buying new speakers over and above what I already had, however I was keen to get a stereo Bluetooth set up (These days everyone has got so use to small portable mono sound systems!) As a child of the 60's and 70's I wanted something that would give me a rich stereo sound but accepted that quality would be impaired using Bluetooth rather than a wired or optical connection. Long story short these speakers delivered, unlike a few reviews I had seen, the finish on the speakers was spot on, they were solid and great looking. I was impressed from the off and the sound seemed pretty darn good considering I was using a Bluetooth connection. Over the next few days I gradually broke the speakers in and they definitely sound that little bit sweeter now. A lot of people said back the bass off a lot and push the treble up. For me I found the bass at around 1 or 2 o'clock with the treble at about 3 o'clock was perfect. Nice warm sound across the spectrum. Good sound stage. Not over loud but enough to comfortably fill a small to medium (ish) room. No real distortion when played at the highest volume setting. These are really versatile, good looking and impressive speakers on a par with, if not better than many speakers twice their price. Do not hesitate get yourself some of these today. Make sure you buy the 1280DB's model the (S) is important as this gives the improved Bluetooth 5 connection and the ability to expand your speakers by plugging in a sub woofer with a very effective crossover filter built in. Hope this review helps.
