This hinge drill works quite well. The end engages reasonably accurately in the hinge. The depth of the hole is a little shallow at full depression. It must be American manufacture because it is all imperial. That's a bit of a problem because the allen screw that secures the drill is a wonky size that most people are unlikely to have. You will have to buy one though because the drill is not held well enough buy the allen screw and comes out often. The designers could fix this by grinding a little flat on the drill shank. They could also make them with normal size allen screws and save every buyer the hunt for the obscure american sizes. Surely the whole of the UK and EU is a big enough market to justify using metric size screws. Other observation is that the waste clears most of the time on soft wood but on oak doors the waste jams the drill in the extended position every second hole. You have fiddle around with a pair of pliers and reversing the drill to clear it. Another job for the designers to reflect on. Before buying this I tried one of the cheap sets that flood the market. Don't bother, they are junk.
