Merkur 42C Razor
The finish on this chrome-plated brass razor is flawless and it feels reassuringly solid but not too heavy in the hand. Some have commented on the stubby handle, although it is actually a bit longer than the old Gillette Tech's handle, so this doesn't worry me. You get two blades in the pack, which is a nice touch. I tried the razor with a Wilkinson-Sword classic blade as it the one I know best and got a very satisfying shave. The Merkur gives a very smooth, mild shave and will only nick you if you become careless. I think this would be a terrific razor for someone who wants to get into DE shaving without spending a whole lot of money, but who still wants a high quality product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Took a little getting used to, but I love it!.. "Get one it will save you loads".
I was sick and tired of paying loads for Gillette Mag3 cartridges so I thought I would try a more traditional and cost effective approach. As I have a bit of a Goatee I did at first find it a little tricky maneuvering around the hair of my chinny-chin-chin. but within a couple of days I had mastered it and I believe i get as good a shave as I used to from the old Mag3, of course at just at a fraction of the price. The thing I love most about this razor is that it seems to be precision made, has a good weight and I love the short handle which is great for grip and maneuvering.
