    Gem of a product.

Gem of a product. Saw this being used on Beechgrove.. Garden show on BBC and placed my order. It arrived promptly and well wrapped. This product is extremely easy to use and is certainly not flimsy. Have been using it ( together with my own plastic bottles)..on watering tomatoes and courgettes..extremely happy with them and happily recommend these to all thinking of buying this type of product.

  • Most critical review

    Possibly for outdoor plants

The product doesn't work - even if you stuff the nozzle tight with papertowel as suggested, the flow rate is so fast it soaks the plant and the bottle empties overnight. A bigger bottle tips over. I bought these to keep my houseplants watered while I was away on holiday. Despite days of experimentation with the degree and type of stuffing in the nozzle, there was just too fast a flow rate to make it practical.

I used the water spikes recently, easy to attach to water bottle. Spikes good quality. I found the water dripped through to quickly, so next time l covered a couple of the holes with tape, works much better as l wanted a slow continuous drip. It might be me using incorrectly

  • Helpful for a few days away.

It is very helpful if you intend to go away for a few days, kept our plant pots well watered. We had to put a hole in the top of the bottle to relieve the pressure of the water as it dripped out. I would have liked a way of using old milk bottles as well as pop bottles - a conversion kit for this bottle type would be very helpful.

  • A great little gadget!

These are a great idea and have a set myself. I was going to give these to a friend but when they came they were bright orange, not brown like mine and I don't think she would like them so will have to give them to someone else. Otherwise I love them and find them really useful.

  • Really useful product

Very practical and easy to use. Have been using these for a few years. Ideal for pots and large indoor plants when away. Also good for individual garden plants during the drought if wanting to avoid using the hose. I don't cut the bottom from the bottle to avoid collecting debris and clogging up the holes but up to you.

  • Reasonable price for watering plants.

They are good and work ok.It just takes time to adjust how much tissue paper to put in to regulate the amount of water released. But all in all very good value.

  • Good buy

Comes in handy if you are going away for a week, I have been putting 1l lemonade bootle on which fit on, have also put plumber's tape round neck to make water tight.

  • Great idea but wrong thread

Tried to screw on a standard squash bottle and thread did not seem to match. Finally got it square and tight but neck leaked when filled with water. Had to use PTFE tape to make a proper seal

  • Value for money and they work

Work reasonably well but sometimes the holes get blocked. The extra cap fittin is great for those bottles that didn’t fit original spikes
