  • Danelectro FAB Chorus Pedal

After a year of trying a rainbow of Chorus pedals, I settled on a VERY surprising choice. Despite the total lack of 'Guitar-Snob' appeal, this inexpensive unit produces an incredible variety of Chorusing textures. And, ALL of the settings are top-drawer. I use this for a Pat Metheny-ish Creamy voicing. When I blend this with any of my Overdrive units, the sound is still lush - no 'cheap-box' clipping - and vibrant. And yet, my techniques on Guitar are not lost, nor over-affected. No 'clicks' or 'POPs' when engaged or dis-engaged; This is simply a Great unit !

  • Great value

All the FAB pedals are great! I own the Chorus, Overdrive & Echo pedals & love every one of them. The FAB Overdrive may not upstage my Tube Screamer, but it does a great job none the less. And what a great value!! How can pedals that sound this good be sold at such a remarkable price? I don't know and don't care! Way to go Dano!! I've still got my 1448 guitar with amp in case and it sounds amazing!! Your quality of product is still spot on.

  • Good Inexpensive Chorus Unit

This is a good chorus especially for the price. It gets the typical sound types most often heard on recordings. It is well built with a metal case has a very smooth and quiet foot switch. The controls, plug and power connections are all on one end as opposed to the sides which can be somewhat awkward when using with other style pedals. I use this mainly at home, here and there so fine for that.

  • sounds nice for the price

Drawbacks : "not true bypass" & "made of plastic" ... oh well. for the price, the sound quality is better than almost any other chorus. Very simple yet effective controls. For gigs, this pedal is only used for a couple songs... so it stays out of my effects chain (unplugged) until needed... I'm not sure if it affects my clean tone while not engaged. The only thing I have noticed is that this chorus sounds really thick, so I use the bridge pickup for a more treble setting on the guitar. Awesome value !!

  • Suprisingly nice.

Ive played different higher end chorus pedals and this one sounds just as nice and even better than alot of them in the 100.00 price range. Easy to use. Is quiet. Very sensitive knob adjustments. It can do slight color boosting/enhancing to all out spacey sounding vibe. Very satisfied with this pedal. Especially for the price.

  • Great Pedal!

I love the sound of this Chorus. It's a completely different animal from an "ordinary" octave pedal like the Danelectro Chili Dog. I enjoy the sound best when the two octaves are evenly balanced...sounds kinda like a bell, as if the highs and lows are emphasized, and the mids are subdued. One caveat: It is not enough to turn the pedal off, you need to also remove the input cable to keep the battery from running down overnight. If you want to add a pedal power supply, I believe the connector you need is 2.1mm female, center negative.

  • Great little basic chorus unit

The Danelectro FAB Chorus has earned a spot on my pedal board, along with the JOYO JF-07 Jet Flanger, and the Marshall RG-1 Regenerator. It's a basic, meat-and-potatoes unit - you get Mix, Speed, and Depth controls - that works well and provides a useful range of tonal effects for very little money. In typical Danelectro fashion, it has its peculiarities: the 1/4" input and output, as well as the 9V DC in are all located on the back of the unit, rather than on the sides, like most floor pedals. The control knobs are also located on the back, instead of up top - and they work backward from the way you'd expect them to, so they can be a bit confusing for those new to the Danelectro Way. But, as an effects pedal, the FAB Chorus pulls its weight - and it does it noiselessly, unlike, say, the Behringer Ultra Chorus, which ticks at a rate governed by the Rate control setting. That's why it sits on the shelf, while the Danelectro pedal occupies the space on my pedal board where the Behringer used to be. The FAB Chorus runs equally well on batteries or an external 9V supply - which is handy for a lot of guitarists, because the power supply is not included. There are definitely better units on the market for a WHOLE lot more money - but the Dano does the job pretty darned well for the price ...

  • Great little chorus, a real bargain

This little pedal sounds great! Yes, it's mostly plastic, but it's quite durable, like a football helmet type plastic. For the price, great little pedal. Very nice sounding chorus!

  • Great affordable chorus pedal

These danelectro Fab pedals are really great for someone who doesn't have a whole lot of money but still wants some decent effects. If you are expecting a Keeley or are other more elaborate chorus pedals this isn't it. This is pretty basic but sounds pretty good in my opinion. It has really good depth, speed and mix knobs for control. I've been paying for 34 years and I can find a lot of enjoyment in this little pedal. So don't be scared because it's cheap. Get yourself one and jam out!
