Powerful, but quite noisy at full power
Powerful desk fan. Three power settings; on its highest it is quite noisy, but on its lowest it still provides a good breeze and the noise level is not distracting. Doesn't rotate (as expected). Quiet.... NOT
Quiet? Quiet?? The box says "25% more silent"..... then in SMALL print "than HT800" Having plugged it in, my first thought (before reading the small print) was 25% quieter than what??? A Morris Dancer falling down stairs??? The manual says sound level is 56 dB(a). I measured it at 55dB(a) on its lowest setting its 60+ on higher. and No i'm not measuring the sound level in the air stream. Looking through the case, it looks like the motor is a bog-standard cheap fan motor, which is probably why in addition to general turbulence noise this also emits an annoying bearing noise and due to the cheap plastic blades which are clearly unbalanced a rattle too. In summary, if your looking for a quiet fan look elsewhere, as qui9et this is definitely not. is it quieter than A N other standard fan, i don't think so. As far as i can see the only thing this is possibly quieter than is one of the manufacturers other fans.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Beefy, well-made fan. Whether it is notably 'Quiet' is up for debate though.
Wind. I love a bit of wind... and this fan delivers plenty of that. I've rarely felt the need to have it turned on anything other than the lowest setting. Plenty of breeze from a few metres away at this setting. As for whether this fan is 20% quieter... it's hard to say. I doubt they are 20% quieter than other desktop fans I've used... but then, I reckon this one blows a lot harder at each of the three settings. Not very quiet
I paid the extra for this product expecting a wisper quiet fan much like a pc case fan. It's not quiet but it does move the air. I'm really disappointed it's about the same as a normal fan in sound but it is more powerful than a cheaper fan.
