Better than Poly
Perfect protection for Late Silver-Age through modern comics. Crystal clear and easy to use. Since I do NOT use tape around my comics (I don't allow tape in the SAME ROOM as my comics!) I have discovered that simple "Post-It" notes are perfect for closing the flap on these sleeves and pose no danger to the comics. (Unlike Tape, which has destroyed many covers!) These Mylar sleeves are far superior to the standard Poly sleeves and do not need to be changed every few years. The poly sleeves are great for short-term storage, but these Mylar do not wrinkle or start to decay and "out-gas"! Best protection for ungraded comics.
These bags are crystal clear and never need replacing. Ordinary bags have to be replaced every 5 years as do the boards. NOT these bags and boards. While I would not use them for cheap "reader copy" dollar bin comics, the are definitely recommended for more valuable comics that are not yet graded and slabbed. Once you see the Mylar difference, you will never want to use regular bags and boards on your prized collection again. Definitely go with the 2 mil mylar and full-backs. The 4 mil are too tight and the full-backs offer maximum spine protection (thick as 2 back boards). You can also use half-backs and put an old regular back board behind the half back to recycle the old board since it won't be touching the comic.
