I've only recently been introduced to Agatha Raisin after I received a collection of BBC dramas read by Penelope Keith for a present. I am thoroughly enjoying these stories and feel that Agatha is like a feisty Miss Marple. It's not necessary to begin with the first novel, although it does help to gain a greater insight into the characters. In summary, Agatha sells her successful PR business in London and takes early retirement to a Cotswold village where she soon becomes established as the local sleuth. Agatha Raisin and the Wellspring of Death is well up to standard and while she lurches from one crisis to another, she eventually solves the mystery. I very much enjoyed Penelope Keith's reading and she infuses the right amount of humour to make this a relaxing story.
