It’s double trouble for G.I. Joe and his comrades with the Crimson Twins, Tomax and Xamot. The Hasbro Tomax-Xamot Action Figure set is a part of the Rise of COBRA G.I. Joe series. This destructive duo can create havoc for the heroes of G.I. Joe. Mirror twins, Tomax and Xamot are only differentiated by the scar on Xamot’s cheek. The toy figures are dressed in blue and burgundy uniforms with silver boots and black gloves. A red sash is draped across each figure’s chest and a molded holster with side arm is attached to each figure’s leg. The two toys are equipped with indentations in their backs to attach to the included skyhook. The skyhook is silver in color and features a grab bar on each end of the device so that the characters are able to grab on easily. The skyhook is equipped with a small wheel to allow a rope to act as a zip line. Each of the brothers comes with a highly detailed black automatic weapon. The weapons are crafted to a realistic appearance and come complete with a scope. Tomax and Xamot are part of COBRA’s infamous Crimson Guard, the nemesis of G.I. Joe. The packaging provides a brief biography of the characters, including their military history. It seems that these mercenary COBRA soldiers grew weary of their service in the Foreign Legion and joined the ranks of the finance industry. With financial backing from COBRA, the brothers wage war on their enemies in corporate boardrooms as well as in the field. Xamot and Tomax have a wide variety of specialties. Listed on their package insert biography are skills in espionage, sabotage, propaganda, and of course, corporate law. The action figures of Tomax and Xamot are fully jointed and may be posed in a variety of action-related positions. The G.I. Joe figures of Tomax and Xamot are made of sturdy plastic and are appropriate for ages five and up due to the small toys that come with the figures. The characters are in league with the COBRA Commander and his intelligence officer the Baroness, as well as evil Serpentor and Destro, however, they must deal with G.I. Joe team members such as Roadblock and the other heroic G.I. Joes. All of these characters are featured in films and comics series. This fact can make these classic action characters highly collectable. The Hasbro figures of Tomax and Xamot can be a welcome addition to any collector’s showcase of G.J.
