There's nothing like the right tool for the job, and this, of course, is designed specifically for Hero 4 batteries. The batteries stay fairly cool during charging, and there is no sign of their being overly charged, so battery life is near to the maximum expected. Worthy of note is, in extremely cold weather/water, batteries don't possess their maximum capacity. This is down to physics, not the battery or the charger.
