Fabulous! Great bargain!
It's fantastic on both hard floors and carpets (most carpets we have are short pile carpets and 1 long pile). It hasn't lost suction even when it was nearly full. It has brushes that pick up all the hairs (I used to have to use a rubber glove after I vacuumed with my old vacuum) and this is the most important function to me :-) It's not too heavy so vacuuming is fairly easy, it's a little bit more difficult to get in the corners (old vacuum had a smaller ''suction head'') but I go in the corners with one of the tools and it looks great. It has a few tools. I don't really use the upholstery one or the brush one as they don't stay on. There's a little ''button'' that should be pushed out, it isn't so it doesn't hold them. Please see picture. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is because the cord is in my way pretty much all the time. The old vacuum had a retractable cord so I could control how long I needed it to be. With this one it's difficult for me keep hold of it and because it's so super long, it's in my way. Also...another thing that bugs me a little bit for now is that the extra tube (I use it to vacuum the stairs, I don't have to drag the vacuum with me) is really difficult to stretch. I hope it's just because it's new and will ''loosen'' a bit after a while. For now, I really need to put some strength into stretching and using it. It just keeps pulling me back. The first picture I took is with a container almost filled after vacuumed the whole house (3 bed house), I was amazed how much it picked up! I use shake and vac on the carpets and had no idea how much my old vacuum left behind! My carpets look a lot better now. Price was great too! £65 for a such a great vacuum is a bargain! It was delivered the very next day after I ordered, well packaged, instructions are very clear. It comes with a hard floor attachment as well, I barely use it though. It's super easy to empty and nothing stays in. All in all, I am very happy with it!

Nice looking vacuum but has flaws
It was purchased as a refurbished model with a 12m guarantee from direct vacuums via eBay. The reliability is OK but purchased a month ago. It is easy to use but I haven’t figured out how to use the extendible hose on the stairs. The cable was not 13 meters as stated in the product description on direct vacuums website which is misleading There was no instruction manual with the item. Light with a good suction
This cleaner is so much lighter than my old one, it has a really good variable suction bar, with good suction, and a long cable that can go right round my floors without changing sockets. It's easy to empty and you don't get yourself covered in dust. It does have a couple of minus points however. I don't like the clips that attach the hoses, they are quite fiddly and I found it quite difficult to clip them on properly. I have a few vacuum bags for bedding and while using the hose attachment to suck out the air, the vacuum makes the most annoying and loud whistle, it actually hurts my ears. Very good suction.
I bought this as a second cleaner for upstairs. I was surprised at the powerful suction it has which compares favourably which my cordless Shark and my previous Dyson at a fraction of the cost. I like the fact that it has normal dust collection capacity unlike the cordless cleaners which fill up very quickly. I found the size and weight of the cleaner good but was very surprised when I turned it on and it was harder to push due to the power of the suction. That is not a criticism as I am a silver surfer and therefore not as strong as I used to be so what is hard for me may not be for others. Nice hoover but heavy to use
I have been searching for a vacuum cleaner for some time now. After looking at all of the reviews, I thought I would take the chance and purchase a refurbished one. It arrive well within the timescale. Unfortunately, there were no instructions so I assumed the tools would simply just detach from the vacuum, i.e. the large hose for the stairs. To my amazement, it doesn't just lift off, it looks like it is screwed in to the side of the vacuum. It has great suction. I'm used to using a light stick vacuum so although I did expect this to be heavier, I find it quite big and bulky to lift. All in all, I don't find anything outstanding about this vacuum. It simply vacuums the carpets as well as you would expect. I wouldn't have purchased this if it hadn't been for the lower price with it being refurbished.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Bargain Buy
Having had our vacuum pack up just before Christmas we found this one on the VAX site for £269. Then found same on Argos e-Bay shop for £55. Met specification perfectly so went for it. No regrets. Only TWO negatives 1) very small dust collection facility 2) Cord gets in the way as it is low down on the machine and drags on the carpet/floor, getting in the way. It appears to have a cord hook just below handle, BUT, this does not keep cord attached to it, so cord MUST be held with free hand when vacuuming.
