With its OO gauge and 1:76 scale, it fits seamlessly into any established collection, promising to enrich your model railway with a touch of historical grandeur.
2002-2011 Hornby POS Royal Mail LMS coach was in fine condition with all the ‘extras’ and certainly appears as though it has never been used.
This excellent example of Hornby Model R4155, Running Number 30246 re-released between 2002 – 2011 with all its original ‘extras’, which looks as though it has never been used was supposed to represent the 60ft LMS POS Period III D1792 Lot 611 (No 30246 – 30248) built in1931 Wolverton @ 33T, 60ft x 8ft 8” x 12ft 41/2” which had 8 Top Central Windows on the Collection & Dispatch side, but the model was produced 15mm to short.
The model represents the one-off LMS POS Coach Period II D1974, Lot 472, built in 1929 @ Wolverton, 31T, 57ft x 8ft 8” x 12ft 51/2”, which after 1933 LMS renumbering scheme became No 30232 and was built with 6 Top Central Windows on the Collection & Dispatch side, although the ‘Letter Sorting’ Side had a different layout
The coach will be re-purposed to represent this coach as it was after 1933.
I have it on my model train layout being pulled by 'The Duke of Gloucester' 4-6-2 steam loco with 4 matching LMS passenger coaches. I have fitted LED ribbon lighting in all the coaches and glued in passengers to make the set look authentic. I am 67 and a bit of a perfectionist with my layouts which I have been building since I was 17. I have even drilled out the engine firebox and put in a red flickering LED to simulate the coal burning. I am currently building a Heliport with landing pad, all LED lit and a Superquick series B, No. 34 kit as a housing hangar. I bought 5 micro Helicopters through Aliexpress, all different colours, direct from China Wholesalers and suppliers. I buy lots from there, especially lighting. It is a brilliant source and everything is dirt cheap (No UK Taxes or duty). You can buy in bulk which may be of interest to you, They are all R/C and they all fly. It adds a new dimension to any layout.
Just a helpful suggestion from an enthusiast.
Best wishes
