Slick design
A slightly novel cut down approach to turntable design.
The large 'stone' base gives stability and a bit of mass to the cross arm that the pickup arm and motor are mounted on. The turntable itself just sits in bearings which are very smooth and don't seem to contribute any rumble.
The drive is through a belt, a long thin 'o' ring that you fit to one or other pulley groves on the motor to give 33 or 45 rpm, there isn't any other accessible speed adjustment.
It looks cute and plays well.
Just make sure that you don't make the edge of the platter slippery and get a spare belt!
