I've bought two fans to replace the old ones in the HyperX cooler KHX-FAN, mounted over the memory module block. The fans are quiet at 12V, but they become even better, when connected to 5V - completely inaudible while still pushing enough air over the memory and the power management blocks (which is a must in a water cooler setup)

Connected to my 3d printer as an alternative power supply fan but had to clip 1 wire to make it 2 pin since it has a 3 pin connector. Replaced a 24v one that was 35 dBA with decent air flow but made me nervous it may not be enough so bought this. This runs at 48 dBA at 10cm distance from fan. As louder as the original fan with a slight annoying wine sound. Money down the drain. I thought at least it would come close to matching the 24v one (also wire clipped) but nope. Im switching back. Might sound "quiet" all locked up inside a PC case but not in the open.

Yes, this fan is really quiet, compared with other similar sized fans. You would hardly know it is running. Good air flow for it's size. It is intended to be plugged in to a PC motherboard. If you need it for something else, then you need to know the pin connections for the connector, which are not shown on the box. So, here they are: Pin 1 (marked on the connector): GROUND, Pin 2: +12V, Pin 3: Speed Control Signal.

I've used these in multiple 3D printer upgrades, there perfect and a great way to stop you're printer sounding like it's taking off

Bought it to silence my pc case, I bought the 40mm and 50mm fans which are quiet and perform well but the 60I found too noisy, I ended up getting a cheap maplins 60mm fan which proved to be quieter and had more airflow compared to the gelid one. I wouldn't buy the 60mm again but really happy with the 50mm and 40mm ones.
