Don't fix, just buy the new unit.
This unit is really "updated" from the original unit. The springs are the shape of a pyramid and there are (2) green circuit boards inside. The original was set @ "7" for the normal sound. Now, "4-5" does the trick. It seems to be more efficient! Don't try to fix the "old" unit, replace it with this "new" unit. Well worth the modest price.

My favorite short tank reverb .
This is actually like between a medium and a long decay tank . Sounds like a good sized hall instead of a large room with more sparkle .
