Worth a try. It worked for our Cocker Spaniel
Our Working Cocker Spaniel had 3 or 4 visits to the vets over a few years for one eye which seemed to run leaving a sticky mess round her eye which dried hard round the edges. There seemed to be no reason for this, no ingrowing eyelashes or scratches. The vet prescribed Maxitrol which reduced the problem, but never seemed to completely cure it. Our vet refused to give a repeat prescription without an examination so we were faced with a return journey of 14 miles plus an examination at £30+ & a prescription at £20+. Some online checking suggested Golden Eye might be beneficial for general irritation or allergy alleviation. My soothing Ointment.

Golden Eye Ointment also works on dogs!
I have not seen Golden Eye Ointment for years. When I have tried to buy it from chemist shops, all I have had is a blank stare. On this occasion, I purchased it for our elderly dog as he kept getting a lot of mess on his fur under his eyes. At first, bathing it with cold tea seemed to work but lost its effectiveness. After a few days the itching eyelids calmed down for the first time for. 3 months. Will be buying more.
After reading the leaflet I just put it on my eyelids and it worked almost straight away.. Why can't we buy it in the shops. It may be an old fashioned remedy as I remember it when I was a girl,but it works a treat. My eyes are not so sore now..
