Our 28w fluorescent tube had failed after five years and I think the ballast had also gone as replacement tubes didn't work. It is getting harder to buy these fittings nowadays so I started to look for LED replacements. Now, LED units don't need a starter like fluorescent tubes so that meant I had to do some electrical rewiring. YouTube has some good videos to help here and it is quite straightforward. I worried that the 9w replacement might be too dim but in fact it is a perfect match for the light output of the 28w units and should last longer. This is a great unit and I recommend it.
