BEWARE
This is a good value little tool that will do the job. It's not the best quality and as with most of these type of cheap measuring devices the buttons are awfully loose meaning you have to store it carefully so the power button is not accidentally pressed, or (as it says in the instructions (as with ANY other device)) if you're storing it for a bit take out the battery!!! Yes I would buy another should I need, but if your life depends on it or you are going to be knocking it about then it may prove prudent to expend further funds and buy a better quality one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Moisture meter
Very good value for money. I use it as an indicator as even kiln dried timber can show up to 10% reading. If you do several readings over an area or length, you will soon see which parts have more moisture. Found it particularly useful in finding where damp was coming from on a shower room wall where the reading jumped from an average of 12 to 45 where the water was leaking through a small hole in the shower tray sealant. Nifty little tester
Bought this little tester to check damp in caravans. Neat little item in carry pouch. Two AA batteries provide the power and there is a handy lock function so you can reach difficult places and still see the result. Good basic meter, but for very accurate results on different surfaces (i.e brick & paster) you need to spend a little more & invest in something a little more technical. Essential tool for anyone in house or flat.
Good price and arrived very quickly. I tried it out straight away as I have suspect areas in my house where I think damp may cause a problem. I tested several areas where there can be no possibility of damp (inside walls) and compared the readings to the suspect walls.
