If you care at all about the Bible, you need to see this
Is the film maker's view correct? I don't know, but the evidence Mr. Mahoney produces is very convincing. I work in a high-tech world, and one of the worst things i see happen is when the "experts" get so hung up on a theory that they start ignoring the evidence or intentionally misinterpreting the evidence, and I've seen very honest and good people do this without realizing that they were doing it. Mr. Mahoney demonstrates how archaeologists may have become so convinced of a dating scheme based on one city's name mentioned in Exodus that they've mistakenly dated the events in Exodus to a wrong time period. He interviews these archaeologists and in the interviews they do not appear to have convincing evidence that their approach is correct (though at least some of them seem absolutely convinced of their theory). He also finds other experts who agree that something is wrong with the dating scheme, but there is debate about what is wrong and what the fix should be. Mr. Mahoney presents very impressive evidence for shifting the supposed date of the Exodus by hundreds of years. In this time period, Mr. Mahoney shows evidence that seems to strongly support parts of the Genesis account about the Hebrews coming to Egypt as well as the Exodus account about the Hebrews leaving Egypt. Mr. Mahoney also shows how this change in the dating could actually clear up problems in archaeological dating of other neighboring civilizations around the eastern end of the Mediterranean. If you've heard the stories that "there is no archaeological evidence supporting the account in Exodus" and this has caused you to question the truth of the biblical account, you need to see this film. Is Mahoney right? I'm not qualified to answer that one, but I believe serious archaeologists need to take his suggestions very seriously. If they choose to reject his suggestions, they need to produce clear and understandable evidence to support this conclusion. And if they can't do that, they need to stop saying that there is no archaeological evidence to support the account in Exodus.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
