Meets Current Requirements at a Good Price
I live in Maryland. As of Jan 2018, replaceable-battery smoke alarms were prohibited by law. Battery-operated alarms now must used sealed batteries with a minimum 10-year life. The Kidde i9010 meets the requirements at a very good price point. Installation was a snap: The Kidde base had holes in the same position as the base of the replaceable-battery alarm it replaced. Just twist to remove the old alarm then align and twist to install the Kidde alarm. As soon as the alarm body was connected to the base, the alarm activated and tested properly. Other than recommended annual cleaning with compressed air, no maintenance is required for the 10-year anticipated life.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
