Excellent little mirror used in this case to see into the rear of my motorhome. The suction mount requires quite a lot of force to lock it in place but one there does the job very well.

I gave it a 3. BUT it will be a 5 on Upright Wind Shields. It is a very Good Make/Quality, But the Design does NOT suit ALL Wind Shields. Wind Shields on some New Cars are slanting a lot (for Aerodynamics). This one will be OK for Wind Shields which are almost upright (not slanting for Aerodynamics). In that case, only the Car Interior will be shown and NOT the Road behind. As for Reviews about it falling off, most such Mirrors do fall off occasionally, especially in Hot weather (similar to some Sat Nav Suction Cups). The axle (nib) between the Mirror & the Suction Cup is straight which does not give much flexibility in adjusting it for Rear View. The nib on my old one is angled. I ordered this one as a replacement to my old one which is 18 years. So they do last for a very long time, unless they get smashed after falling off.Read full review

Have bought over a dozen of these mirrors over the years. The quality of the suction mechanism is poor. Once you take the mirror off and reapply a few times the locking mechanism gives up. You will find that it just rotates without locking into place. Or the suction is so poor that the mirror falls off. Previously one can keep using the same mirrors for couple of years at least. Now it last just few months and you end up buying another one, wondering how long this will last. I do not know why Summit, the manufacturer, does not take notice of the reviews of their product. Perhaps maybe because they are the only one making these? It should not be difficult to make the mount lever type or the twisting type that Tom Tom uses. These ones stay on the screen!

After spending more than a fiver on two different adhesives in a vain attempt to glue my old mirror back on (it is surprisingly heavy, probably to prevent vibrating) I decided to buy this mirror,it is suprisingly well made, solid and doesn't vibrate at all,I wish I had tried it first.

A small sized mirror ideal for passenger side attachment. Even though it is manufactured in China, it is sturdily made from decent materials. The problem I had with it was that the ball-and-socket arrangement on the back does not have enough up and down movement to cater for currently accepted angles of windscreens in modern cars. The solution was to remove some of the plastic at the top of the socket with a Stanley knife which increased the adjustment angle sufficiently for me to see out of the rear window, rather than look at the handbrake which was the case before modification.

Apparently a unique suction mechanism... I wonder if it's made of Teflon? It just won't stick to the windscreen of my daughter's fiesta even after using the supplied alcohol wipe nor on (flat) side windows. On close inspection the suction cup is not a regular shape and this may compromise the adherent qualities of it? On a post note: it was delivered promptly.
