Sturdy reel with good capacity
Purchased this reel for a 2.5mm 3 core arctic cable to run across a churchyard to supply the village Christmas tree lights. The cable is 50m long and the reel took it all, and a weatherproof box with the sockets was easy to attach to the reel. So for what we needed it is perfect. I was a little worried that it would not take the full 50m, but the description was spot on. You might wonder why such a heavy cable for tree lights, but it gives us the facility to use it should a heavier current be needed at other times. Well made, fairly robust and easy to adapt for your own sockets, such as large 13amp 240volt mains power sockets or much smaller HDMI or other video and audio cable sockets. There is plenty of room inside the central core of the drum to accommodate any of these plus their internal cable connections. The face plate of the central core of the drum is easy to take off and adapt to fit your chosen socket by taking out just three screws. A BRILLIANT CABLE DRUM
The cable reel is sturdy and a very very good price. It's also versatile in as much as you can detach the centre panel and install sockets in it, oir you can bring the cable end out and wrap it round the three flanges provided. I bought ten of these having bought a sample and I'd buy more if it needed them! The cable is easily rewound on to the drum and there is a locking slide which works well. Sturdy cable reel for a variety of uses.
I bought this to store a 9-metre pressure-washer hose, which was always tangling up when wound around the washer itself. It seems plenty large enough for that task, but would also be great for storing various electrical cables, hoses and tubes. Very good product, I have used it for 40m of heavy duty 240v cable and there is room for more. I would suggest don' forget to unroll all the cable before use as could heats up if you don't. Exactly as described and easily turned into whatever type of cable drum you want.
Drum has a hole to feed the cable that's wound on the reel through. Also there is a removable centre plate on one side that you can mount a socket on, so you can make your own, customised, reel.
