New lease of life for old door handles
For a small price, these give your door handles a new lease of life. They are easy to fit with the right tools. There are different thickness springs and different amount of turns so make sure you order the correct ones. If in doubt, remove one that is not broken to check. You will need screwdriver to remove door handle and circlip pliers to remove spring. Much cheaper than buying new handles, and easier than trying to find matching replacements.

Spring not strong enough
I bought this spring to replace one that had broken on one side of the door. The spring fitted well but when I put it all back together the spring was not strong enough to return the handle bar back to the horizontal. If I pushed it up then it would stay. I compared it to the original spring on the other side of the door and this had a much stronger return action. I tried other springs from the pack with the same result. The handle is a bar which is quite heavy so this could be the reason. I have compared this spring with others that are advertised and there seems to be no way of telling how strong a spring will be. Better than before but not great.

This type of product is no longer available from local stores, so online purchase is only source. Could do with pointing out that width of spring i.e. is important 2mm or 2.5mm.. fortunately the removal of a washer compensated or a thicker spring.

bit tricky to fit. The springs fit two ways make sure you have a pair when refitting you will need some circlip pliers or just grind a old set of long nose pliers well worth the savings on the price of door handles

A bit disappointing
The spring is made out of oval spring steel which is different to my door handle which is made of round spring steel and results in a harder to use opening and closing, I would have preferred it to be round, it is not possible to see this in the illustration.

Pros. This product saved me from having to buy new door handles.Easy to fit if you have cir clip pliers. They are not expensive to buy. Cons. Not so much of a con but an unknown. How long will they last only time will tell,but if you don’t want to spend a lot of money replacing your internal door handels buy this product, just make sure first that the spring is the problem.
