Fantastic silent burner from korea
Many new pots have a heat exchanger or are the narrower tall titanium type and these pots work far better with the rocket or narrower flame pattern offered by many of the new gas stoves available today, however they dont work so well on multifuel stoves with a conventional flame spreader. This new UFO shaped stainless steel spreader offers a more direct broad inferno of heat to the bottom of a pot which is exactly what's needed for these modern pots. It arrived from korea and it is a work of art! Presision machined and of the very best quality. It also doesnt come with instructions and this means a bit of rather dangerous adjusting and learning was required for me to figure it out. Firstly, remove the old plate spreader completely and site the new flying saucer in place. I have mine with the screw head protruding upwards about 1.5mm and this is a good place to start. The next bit is critical. Pump the stove as normal and allow enough fuel to flow through to actually drip down and soak the wick. The first fuel through seems to retain inside the ufo an extra need to be allowed to flow so that it properly flows down into the wick. Light the wick from the bottom and allow the heat to properly preheat the metal heat exchanger in the stove and the burner head thoroughly. It doesnt take much longer than normal but more fuel is definitely needed to preheat the extra metal. Once the flame is nearly out turn on the flow and a low blue flame should be seen outside the burner. After a few seconds increase the flow and normal flame adjustment can be made. If it flares turn it down and allow time for more heat in the burner. The flame should burn blue and clean outside the burner head or ufo. If it's slightly yellow adjust the screw a little and find where the flame burns clean. I'm not sure what I did wrong but you can actually get the thing to burn th gas inside the burner head and if this happens the burner head glows red and makes a loud noise like a catalytic burner. If the happens, switch it off and relight. I'm pretty sure this ain't right as it produces a strange smell and the metal glows bright red and produces less heat as the gas is combustion inside the burner. It may look cool but I'm pretty sure itll damage the burner or stove as the heat is not being produced on the outside of the stove. I have included a photo of this happening. It should burn exactly as the photo in the advert and NOT like this. Perhaps the maker could comment on this? If you preheat properly and have the screw set right this wont happen. Anyway, I love the flame pattern its exactly like I wanted and massively hot. Possibly even hotter than before....I'll need to test this.

Excellent Product in need of a better Exposure!!
I am very happy with this Stove Silent Damper. I spent loads of my time researching various stove silent dampers out there, I eventually decided on this one. Honestly, I am happy I bought this one. I have other stoves but this one works well with my Optimus Nova Plus so it gets my solid 5 -Stars! I am happy with the way it spreads the flame to the sides and ofcause above. It is indeed a good silencer. This product should reduce the loud noise of your stove to kind of a soft jet sound. It wouldn't make it dead silent but you will notice the difference right away. Notes on use: I found that the Pre heating of my Optimus Nova+ does not take significantly longer as when the factory burner cap is used. This damper really heats up fast and takes 'LOOONG' to cool off after cooking, - about 30 minutes! This will delay your packing off the stove. I need to add that this is about the same across all Silent dampers due to the dense metal used in thier manufacture. It takes about 22 minutes to get cold to touch and another 8 min to be totally cold meaning 30 minutes after putting out the stove. I observed that When the stove has heated to its full peak, the damper glows red hot giving it the looks of a reddish floral looks - pleasant to see.😀 BEST PART! If you have a Multifuel Stove like an Optimus Nova, Nova Plus or Optifulel you already know it runs many liquid fuel types. You will have read that they don't run on spirits/alcohol (as used by Trangia burners); Well, I have found that YOU CAN run spirits/alcohol on these stoves! Only thing is that the jets has to be adjusted (tighter) for each fuel type as for the Optimus that runs all fuel types using just one jet. Now how easy or convenient is it to adjust the jet while cooking. Hence the best part of this particular Silent damper is that you don't need to adjust the stoves jet for each fuel type, you just do the adjustment right on the damper itself. Very convenient!! This is the ONLY damper product I have found in the market with this feature. I found that kerosene (parafin) burns the hottest. Spirits and Kerosene needs 2 to 3 times of priming to catch up. Spirits don't produce a lot of heat like the kerosene. Finally, if any negatives about this product, it may be the price. Well, most dampers are expensive and having used this, I don't mind the $US49 I have paid for it. It's great for stealthy camping at night. The better part is the Shipping only cost $US6.00, that's fair in my humble opinion. It arrived to my location (South Africa) from Korea in 5 weeks. Finally, if you have the cash to spend, go ahead and buy it! You will not be disappointed. I did and am very happy to have bought this model. Note: Every notes written here are from my own experience, I was not engaged nor paid to give this product review. The damper as described here is mated to my newer Optimus Nova+ stove. The burner cap is worth replacing as the original one is very 'brittle' and too noisy for stealth camping. I hope my review here will help you decide on the damper to purchase. When I was looking to buy, information on this model was just one or two that gave very little insight on the product. I took a leap, and I am happy I bought this model. Now go well, and don't forget that God loves you!
