it slows down algae growth
Have had a lot of string algae growing rapidly in new pond during the hot weather and pond is in full sun so I bought this filter , Its robust and is large enough to perfectly fit my filter box cut in two halves , I use a Pontec multi and it fits snugly next to the Japanese filter pad . The first few days I didnt think it was working but its definitely slowing down the algae growth so I recommend this product . I still have algae growth but its not growing anywhere near as fast as it was before adding the sponge to my tank . Its not really a sponge but a sort of tough flexible mesh . I will buy this again and its value for money.

Phosphate levels are reduced.
I think this product is working as the Phosphate levels are reduced. Shall have to wait a while to see if it is working how they said it should. I will keep you posted.
