Powerful and smooth-running
In a different class to the lower powered hobby grinders. It can be run free-standing without being bolted down. There is a little vibration on run-up be that dissappears when it reaches full speed. The LED light on the flexible arm comes on automatically when then machine powers up. The eye shields are a useful size without being a hinderence. It also has spark arrestors which block particles coming over the top of the wheels. The outer wheel guards can be removed by slackening three captive screws. The stone dresser which is held in a fixing on the top of the machine works well and is a useful addition although a major dressing may require a Huntington or diamond dresser. The pull-out coollant tray is useful for small items but is shallow and easily spilt if pulled out completely. as with most grinders, the tool rests are nominal and any serious or accurate grinding work may require additional jigs. Having said that, the tool rest on right-hand wheel does have an angled groove for grinding drills.
