Hammerite direct to rust paint no primer or undercote reqired saving time and effort.
I used this paint to cover some rather attractive cast iron outdoor chairs that had gone rusty. I removed as much rust as possible and painted with 2 coats of direct to rust Hammerite no primer or undercoat required. Time will tell how long this will last before requiring further coates.

Pleased with the end result but found it quite hard to apply and it needed two coats to cover properly on the tin it said one coat should be ok on metal that wasn't rusted but it still needed two so we needed to buy more paint never mind it looks ok now

Hammerite paint is the best paint I have ever used, I painted a rusty radiator 3 years ago without any undercoat, its still rust free and as smart as the day it was painted, I have since painted my front door, it covered very well and dried in less than an hour.
